This selective guide highlights major electronic and print resources in Sports Law.  Legal issues related to sports may involve several areas of law (eg, contracts, torts, intellectual property, constitutional law, etc.).  The researcher is encouraged to start with secondary sources, such as books and articles.  Secondary sources provide good explanations of specific areas of law, as well as annotations to primary sources, such as court decisions and statutory law.

Several resources listed in this guide are available on LexisNexis or Westlaw, which are only available to C|M|LAW faculty and students.  However, some of these resources are also available in print or via another CSU electronic resource, such as HeinOnline and LexisNexis Academic.
